well i just replaced almost everything in my system with better/new stuff. so now i have....
amd athalon x64 dual core 5200+ 2.71 ghz processor
4 gigs of ddr2 ram
his radeon hd 3870 graphics card
600w power supply
brand new asus motherboard
but with all this new stuff i can only run modern warfare 2 on med/low settings....did they really screw this game up so bad that i can only run it on low, or does my system still suck? LOL!
im thinking about picking up arma2, but now im not sure if i could even run newer games....

i was worried when you posted you had already bought the parts that this would happen. those are old parts by todays standards  and those parts other than maybe a newer processor by a year or 2 and some better ram are not that much better then what you had... but it still should run everything ok. try running good ol modern warefare the original to compare what you remember. you should be able to run everything on or around high in that game, also you should be able to handle arma 2 i would think with everything low and medium. and even with that good ol AMD which is a great processor you should be able to run everything and have fun at slightly lower settings. with flight sims you should not have a problem at all like with lock on and black shark i would think. make sure water is at normal in black shark lol that is a frame decapitation to the most super of super computers!

the really crazy thing is my friends have almost exactly the same stuff as me, but they can run the damn game on high/extra settings. for some odd reason MW2 doesnt like whatever is in my setup. i think im the only one with an ati card...

downloaded the latest driver a couple mins ago. running it on high settings and getting 50-70 fps now. im happy. LOL!
